Where to find CBSE sample question papers for vocational subjects

Sample question papers (SQPs) are the single most useful thing to practise with before a CBSE vocational subject exam — they show the exact mix of question types, mark weightage and time allotment the board actually uses, which a textbook alone won't tell you.
If you followed a link here expecting a specific archived sample-papers download, that file is no longer hosted at its old location. This page explains what CBSE's vocational SQPs contain, how they're structured, and where to get the current set directly from CBSE.
What's in a vocational subject SQP
For most CBSE skill subjects, the sample paper covers the theory component only — practical work is assessed separately, through internal lab work, a project file and a viva conducted by the school. The theory SQP typically comes with a marking scheme document alongside it, which is worth studying just as closely as the questions themselves, since it shows exactly how markers award partial credit.
Question patterns usually blend short-answer, case-based and longer descriptive questions, mirroring the shift CBSE has made across subjects toward more applied, scenario-based assessment rather than pure recall.
Where to get the current papers
- CBSE Academic website (cbseacademic.nic.in) publishes SQPs and marking schemes for each subject, updated for the current academic year.
- cbse.gov.in links out to the academic site's circulars whenever a new set is released.
- Your school's subject teacher, who usually keeps the latest set along with any internally set practice papers.
Because CBSE refreshes SQPs most years to match syllabus updates, always download the current year's set rather than reusing an old archive — question patterns and weightage do shift between cycles.
How to use them well
Attempt an SQP under timed conditions before checking the marking scheme, not the other way round — it's the only way to find out whether your pacing across sections actually works. Then go through the marking scheme line by line, and note the phrasing markers expect for full marks; vocational subject markers often reward specific, applied answers over general theory.
Pair the theory SQP with your practical file and project brief, since in most skill subjects the practical component carries as much weight as the written paper, and there's no substitute for actually doing the lab or project work it covers.
